As an Engineering Manager, you are the driving force behind one of our cross-functional product teams, skillfully combining technical excellence and disciplinary leadership. You work closely with other Engineering Managers and stakeholders from Design, Agile, and Product areas to continuously advance our engineering department and technical platform.

This position offers a balanced mix of leadership responsibilities and hands-on work, with a focus on practical implementation and technical development. You will play a significant role in both leading the team and shaping the technical processes operationally.

Job Tasks:

  • Technical and disciplinary leadership responsibility for one of our cross-functional product teams consisting of a total of 6 Engineers and a QA Manager
  • Active participation in programming and developing innovative features for the Social Dating domain
  • Conducting code reviews and ensuring compliance with coding standards, as well as imparting technical expertise through "leading by example"
  • Ensuring effective collaboration with Product Managers, Designers, our Quality Assurance Managers, and the entire Engineering team
  • Responsibility for the operational and strategic alignment of the team in close coordination with the VP Engineering
  • Development of a high-performing team through professional training measures in an agile environment
  • Continuous improvement of internal team processes and promotion of a culture of continuous learning and optimization
  • Driving the hiring process and organizing onboarding activities for new team members

Job Requirements:

  • Completed studies in Computer Science, Software-Engineering, or a comparable qualification
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in software development and professional experience as a native Golang Engineer, or as a Quality Assurance Manager in an agile environment
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in small to medium-sized Engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as experience in staff management and development
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, hands-on mentality, and a goal-oriented approach
  • Strong self-management and the ability to prioritize appropriately in a dynamic environment
  • Very good English language skills both written and spoken – German skills are a plus
