Your tasks

  • Research, recommend and implement automation methods to proactively manage databases
  • Perform database design tasks related to the structure of a database including analysis, logical data model review, and physical database design
  • Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database
  • Work with third party vendors to review installation prerequisites, database sizing, and support database installation of the product
  • Participate and/or take a lead role with the infrastructure and database configurations/changes, upgrades and etc. that are moderately complex in nature with a high level of proficiency

System Administrators are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a System Admin with IBM, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of, and access to, our most important resource: data.

This role is to provide technical support for database environments and supports the full system life cycle. Person on this position performs Database Administration for a variety of operational and support databases.

As Oracle Administrator you will maintain existing databases by investigating key factors (storage, input/output frequencies, access time etc.) and unusual incidents and problems encountered by applications or systems analyst. On this position you will Install patches and upgrade software to enhance database performance and compliance and maintain and manage database backup and recovery, data propagation (replication) and performance monitoring/tuning. Oracle DBA Monitors database disk space usage and perform RCA of database issues and recommend solutions or workaround.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Technical Oracle database administration skills versions 9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c
  • Performance tuning of Oracle databases
  • Experience of supporting Real Application Clusters and Grid Infrastructure, ASM
  • Knowledge of Data Guard replication technologies
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle
  • Knowledge about Oracle data pump utilities
  • Knowledge about RMAN backup and restore operation
  • Upgrade and patching of Oracle databases multi-tenant and classic architecture
  • Knowledge about Exadata
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good working knowledge of Linux/AIX
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
