The treasury data engineer role is a key role in the data squad under the Genesis Programme.

The Genesis Programme is a multi-year project to automate and digitise balance sheet simulators, balance sheet analysers, corporate planning and forecasting.

The programme aims to achieve this by adopting a common hierarchy / taxonomy across all of GCFO.

This new functionality will be hosted on GCFO's new software (SAP Aspire) which will host all GCFO (Finance & Treasury) data with a view to dramatically improving user experience.

These software changes will result in changes and improvements to existing business as usual operating models.

The data workstream data engineer is required to support following activities

  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient data pipelines between core platforms and SAP systems
  • ETL Process Management: Develop and manage Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure high-quality data integration. (?)
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure seamless integration of data across platforms using tools like DataIku, Exasol, and APOS.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ Python e.tc.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable solutions.
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation for pipelines, processes, and data models.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in data engineering.
  • Develop and maintain data mappings, transformation rules, and integration specifications.
  • Provide expert knowledge and assist in problem-solving during the deployment of new functionalities.
  • Provide ongoing support and knowledge sharing with application users and team members.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, instruments, and banking operations.
  • Ability to apply financial market knowledge to data analysis and business processes.
  • Confirm golden source and availability of the required data attributes (CDEs), including frequency, granularity and other dimensions
  • Review and challenge taxonomy requirements with regards to hierarchies

Qualification

  • Understanding of Balance Sheet Management, Capital, Liquidity Reporting
  • Strong track record of data management and / or data operating model execution and delivery in transformation projects
  • 5+ years of overall work experience with 2+ years of relevant data engineering experience
  • Ability to work proactively, independently when necessary and displays strong initiative.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Hands on experience in data management and operating model in Tier 1 Bank
