We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer with Java and Cloud. You will be working in an IT Engineering team based in London and Krakow. Our role is to provide Technology teams with oversight, support, and solutions to implement a strategic architecture on public cloud services. We help by sharing the architecture vision, working with teams on their solution design, creating code samples and documentation, and ensuring that the developer experience of migrating to the cloud within our organization is both easy and enticing.

This role offers a hybrid model, with 3 days per week working from the client's office in Krakow.

  • Knowledge of Java at a proficient level to effectively communicate with other Java developers (Java work is not a primary daily task). Experience with Java frameworks, such as Spring
  • Ability to work from the Krakow office 3 days per week
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication abilities - fluency in English
  • Interest in professional growth and awareness of ongoing technology trends with a practical approach to leveraging their benefits. A desire to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies such as cloud computing, microservices architecture, security, and encryption
  • Focus on quality, comfort with working independently, teamwork orientation, collaborative environment experience, and knowledge of Agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban)
  • A fundamental understanding of Kubernetes is most welcome. Willingness to grow in this area is crucial
  • Familiarity with high-level MS Azure concepts such as Network, Compute, Regions and Availability Zones, authorization and authentication with RBAC, Storage, and Security (AKV)
  • High-level knowledge of CI/CD, including tools such as Maven, Gradle, GitLab, etc., as well as DevOps practices and the value of automation

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation
  • Certifications such as Azure, Terraform, and Linux Foundation-related certifications like Kubernetes
  • Kubernetes-related projects like Istio, HPA, Keda, and cert-manager
  • Familiarity with scripting languages including: Windows PowerShell, Bash, etc
  • Practical usage of GitHub or similar, contributing to open-source projects
