As aĀ Senior Product EngineerĀ on theĀ PaydayĀ team (Enterprise features), you won't just write code—you’llĀ solve business problems for our enterprise users. Your primary focus will be onĀ designing,Ā building, andĀ delivering high-impact featuresĀ that address the needs of larger teams using n8n. You’llĀ own features end-to-endĀ and work across the stack,Ā collaborating closely with Product and DesignĀ to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions. We're looking for someone who brings strong engineering skillsĀ andĀ aĀ product mindset—someone who cares about user impact, focusing onĀ whyĀ we're building something just as much asĀ how.Ā What we've shippedĀ To give you a better idea of the impact you can have, here are some examples of features and improvements recently delivered for our enterprise users:

  • Centralised insights dashboardĀ providing administrators with a real-time overview of instance health, and workflow execution performance, enabling better monitoring, visibility, and confidence in managing large-scale n8n deployments.
  • Enhanced Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)Ā allowing allowing administrators to precisely control user access to workflows, credentials, and execution data, improving security and compliance.
  • Git-backed EnvironmentsĀ to enable teams to adopt safer development lifecycles (e.g. Development, Staging, Production), allowing controlled versioning and promotion of workflows without impacting live automation workflows.

What you'll bring

  • 5+ yearsĀ of professional software engineering experience, primarily focused on building web applications or SaaS products.
  • Strong proficiency inĀ Node.jsĀ andĀ TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Experience working withĀ Vue.jsĀ or other modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular).
  • Experience inĀ designing, building, and consuming robust APIsĀ (e.g. RESTful, GraphQL).
  • Solid understanding ofĀ relational databasesĀ (e.g. PostgreSQL) and SQL.
  • ExperienceĀ shipping features end-to-endĀ in a product-driven environment, demonstrating ownership from concept to deployment.
  • Experience withĀ modern testing practicesĀ and frameworks (e.g. Jest, Vitest, Cypress).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams
  • You’reĀ curiousĀ and youĀ love learning new things.
  • You value feedback, believe in continuous learning, and enjoy working with others to create a positive team environment.

Nice to have / bonus points

  • Experience developing features specifically forĀ enterprise softwareĀ (e.g. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Single Sign-On (SSO)).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience contributing to or working withĀ open-source projects.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation concepts or platforms.
