Project description

Deliver modern, omni-channel, real-time retailing shopping experience built on Sabre Travel AITM for low-cost carries (LCC). Enhance direct offer capabilities to drive airline yield. LCC's require low cost and highly configurable flexible eCommerce capabilities and provide ability for LCC to process Offer and Order transactions. Provide reduced cost through consolidation of common components including consolidation of offer management system.

First deliverables will include building and enhancing to Shopping Engine and Retailing Mixer to achieve the following

  • Shopping Engine to be able to offer air solution for LCC using Radixx content fare/rule/schedule and availability
  • Retailing Mixer to support Offer/Order API for Shopping Engine

Your tasks

The Product Owner communicates customer needs, technical, and business requirements to the team. Helps managing scrum team's backlog and supports requests, prioritizes them in agreement with product management commitments. According to product vision, accepts team's work and provides input into release decisions in conjunction with key stakeholders. Offers the functional knowledge necessary for the delivery of the best product and solution.

  • Be the product's subject-matter expert (SME) inside scrum teams
  • Works closely with Architecture or/and Product partners on defining business requirements
  • Works with the development team providing team members with help in understanding customers' needs
  • Working closely with software developers as part of an agile team, creates User Stories, Acceptance Criteria and test cases based on business requirements
  • Analyzes new feature requirements and how they fit into existing products
  • Functional documentation
  • Acceptance/sign-off of team stories at completion
  • Demos (internal or external, as needed)
  • Guidance to scrum team on functional requirements
  • Provide day-to-day support to scrum teams
  • Be involved throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line
  • Collaborate primarily with scrum teams, product manager, and other stakeholders as necessary, to deliver the products within the timeline and budget
  • Under general direction, formulates and defines complex systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of industry requirements
  • Documents solutions in comprehensive User Stories that describe what needs to be delivered
  • Includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation of proper system requirement specifications
  • Researches and analyzes current systems to gain an understanding of customer business requirements that are needed to support development of new solutions
  • Understands, interprets and translates business requirements and industry regulations into the necessary design and documentation
  • Assesses business requirements to evaluate alternative or existing solutions
  • Presents technical problems in a comprehensible way to the business
  • Identifies opportunities to maximize use of current products for customers
  • Investigates issues reported by the external and internal customers
  • Supports release scope based on business priority, risks and technical dependencies
  • Initiates and translate product roadmap into manageable product backlog
  • Refines and orders product/release backlogs in collaboration with the development team, as necessary
  • Provides inputs for go/no-go decision making for every release in conjunction with key stakeholders
  • Interfaces with customers when required by Product Manager. Translates customer needs/feedback into more detailed business requirements

Who we're looking for?

  • 5 years+ knowledge experience in travel/aviation
  • System thinking, engineering rigor and technical acumen
  • Familiarity with java/javascript/css/XML/Jason/Postman, automated UI testing, web applications
  • Technical writing skills, documentation experience (user and API guides, functional specs)
  • Master storyteller and story mapper
  • Ability to prioritize the work backlog and identify dependencies
  • Experience with Rally, Jira is an advantage
  • Experience working in and leading Agile/Scrum teams
  • Drive to get things done
  • Initiative, ownership, positive attitude
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle processes, Agile and Scrum in particular
  • Experience as Business Analyst, Product Owner or in Product Management role or similar
  • Previous background in software development roles (product management, software developer, business analyst, QA)
  • Ability to perform business systems analysis; explain and document complex requirements in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects' workload
  • Flexible attitude, organized and able to handle competing priorities
  • Works collaboratively and cross-functionally as part of a team as well as independently
  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent English communication skills; written and verbal.
