Project you can join

Three new teams will aim to perform complex ports for one of Europes largest entertainment companies main software product to three new pieces of hardware and launch into the market. The products all use Open Embedded as a base so each team should have a Linux porting expert; someone who loves Linux and Open source, and who can (and does) build Linux distros and software and is able to target them to different environments. You would work in small teams (3-4) of experts each with their own area of expertise: integration, porting and test. Your first project is expected to take 12-18 months and begins...when the team is established.

This role (Linux Porting Specialist) can suit medium or experienced engineers as long as you are 'strong with the Linux.'

Typical background might be automotive, basestation work, open source work or any other large, multithreaded, stacks on Linux.

We aren't filling in the split of work for this role as the categories here at Bulldog don't really fit. Someone experienced in porting will not be surprised by the work. New platform, new challenges. Memory, performance, correctness, multi-threading and graphics.
