Requirements

Experience level: Mid

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE  

  • As an SAP Basis administrator, 2 to 3 years hands on experience in managing and tuning SAP systems. 
  • Troubleshooting performance issues and analysing ABAP/JAVA stack capacity 
  • Proven inquisitive mindset to detect potential issues early and eagerness to drive the resolution of these issues before they impact the users 
 

NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE  

  • A technical background in infrastructure or ABAP programming 
  • Certification in ITIL or equivalent, Agile or DevOps methodologies 
  • Experience of working in regulated environments 
  • Experience in SAP Authorizations

PURPOSE STATEMENT 

To develop, implement and quality assure workable systems / solution designs which are aligned to IT architectures / standards and deliver required outcomes for projects and other change activities. To develop low level design and build of solutions and/or manage the lifecycle of the technology infrastructure. 

 

OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITIES v DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES 

  • Relationship management of outsource provider, ensuring SLAs are adhered to and that appropriate quality control processes are in place 
  • Ensure third party delivers services in the area of SAP Basis as required. Review and optimize system performance on a weekly basis with the key suppliers 
  • Provide advice and feedback to development teams and projects regarding SAP Basis, e.g. batch jobs 
  • Ensure that any products that are due to go out of support have a plan for remediation and deployment 
  • Promotes and ensures use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools  
  • Keep up to technical speed with chosen technical field or expertise 
 

CORE RELATIONSHIPS  

  • IT Project Manager / Design Manager – to deliver agreed work products to time, cost quality 
  • Solution architects, IDT Services - collaborate with to ensure any defined solutions are fit for purpose Strategic 3rd Party Vendors – Develop non-commercial relationships to collaborate in defining and designing the solutions 
  • External - keep up-to-date with changes within the IT and FMCG industries and with peer groups at other organizations, Special interest groups and Best Practice experts 
  • IT Standards & Governance – to ensure effective application of standard processes
