We were founded end of 2019 and currently:
n8n started off as a workflow automation tool, but has increasingly become a tool for plugging AI into your business. In fact, n8n is a great platform for blending the three fundamental building blocks of automation: AI, code-based steps, and people-based ones. With the kind of traction only AI can bring (look us up onĀ Google Trends),Ā we now have the opportunity to become theĀ visualĀ tool for integrating AI into businessesĀ ā and shaping how that looks, feels, and works will be your design challenge at n8n. Nothing is off the table!
What you will be doing
š§ Design AI features that make sense for real people
Whether itās building a UI for prompt-based agents, improving the experience building AI apps with n8n, or designing how users monitor AI output, youāll make sure it all feels natural and useful.
š§ Explore the space, not just the screens
This isnāt a paint-by-numbers role. Weāre still figuring out what great AI featuresĀ look likeĀ inside n8n. Youāll work closely with product, engineering, and users to run experiments, prototype quickly, and test ideasābefore they become big bets.
š¤ Collaborate with a small, senior team
Youāll be one of the early design hires shaping this space. Youāll work closely with experienced engineers and PMs who care about product quality, craft, and getting the details right. Youāll have a voice in product direction, not just execution.
šÆ Focus on real impact
Youāll design for users who areĀ actually building with AI. Our users are developers, operations folks, and automation-minded problem-solvers.

You donāt need to be an expert, but you should care enough to experiment, learn, and stay informed.
š»Ā Youāre technically fluent ā and can code
Youāre comfortable reading and writing code (HTML, CSS, JS or equivalent) and understand how the systems youāre designing actually get built. You donāt need to own engineering work, but you speak the language and know how to move between design and implementation seamlessly.
š¢Ā End-to-End Product Design Experience
You have many years of experience designing and shipping meaningful product features in real-world settings (and failed along the way)āacross the full lifecycle.
š§© You love solving messy, ambiguous problemsĀ You thrive in greenfield areas where the path isnāt obvious. You know how to explore ideas quickly, validate with users, and turn early signals into sharp design decisions.
šļø You have high design craft and tasteĀ You obsess over clean interactions, flows, and structureābut also know when to move fast. Youāve developed or contributed to design systems, and can elevate the visual and UX polish of a product.
