Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the US and Selkirk Sport is the market leader in manufacturing all things Pickleball! Selkirk Sport is on a mission to grow the pickleball community through cutting-edge web products. You’ll join a small, cross-functional team building and maintaining the user interface of our web applications (Astro + React on the front end, Supabase & Hygraph on the back end) as well as spin-up new projects on the same tech stack.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new user-facing features
- Write clean, reusable code and components for future projects
- Translate UI/UX designs into performant, responsive interfaces
- Optimize applications for speed, accessibility, and scalability
- Participate in code reviews, pair-programming sessions, and sprint planning
- Collaborate closely with designers, back-end engineers, and stakeholders
What You Bring
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS (Sass/Tailwind a plus), and JavaScript
- Basic familiarity with modern front-end frameworks/libraries (e.g. React—hooks, props, state)
- Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Familiarity with Git and a collaborative workflow (branches, pull requests)
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn
- Ability to manage time effectively and ask questions when blocked
- Ability to work in a team environment
Nice to Have
- Some exposure to Astro or SSR frameworks
- Basic testing skills (Jest, React Testing Library, Vitest)
- Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Netlify/Vercel)
- Interest in accessibility (ARIA, semantic HTML)
- Any personal projects or contributions to open-source
