DocMorris AG, a leading Swiss company in online pharmacy, marketplace, and professional healthcare, is seeking a Data Scientist to join their Data team in Barcelona. The company operates a successful marketplace for health and personal care products in Southern Europe, integrating catalogs from numerous offline pharmacies to offer a wide range of products with fast delivery. As a Data Scientist, you will report to the Data Science Tech Lead and collaborate closely with business, marketing, and engineering teams in an Agile environment. Your primary responsibility will be to research, develop, test, maintain, and deploy systems that extract maximum value from data, driving informed decisions and enhancing the experience for customers, sellers, and internal stakeholders.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Engage with stakeholders to understand and address their data needs, co-create data products, facilitate data-driven decisions, and leverage generative AI.
- Develop and refine a variety of data products, including optimization and personalization algorithms, AI agents, LLM applications, recommender systems, and predictive models.
- Manage the end-to-end development of analytics, models, and algorithms, from ideation to production deployment, focusing on user experience, accuracy, scalability, and iterative improvement.
- Ensure high standards and quality in analyses, code, and implementation.
- Support team members through brainstorming, code reviews, and collaborative problem-solving, particularly during Proof of Concept (POC) and Research & Development (R&D) phases.
What we are looking for:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a customer-centric company within e-commerce, transactional marketplaces, or e-health.
- A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in creating, evaluating, and improving Data Products using:
- Advanced Python, including libraries like pandas/polars, PyTorch, LangChain, and experience deploying to production environments using Kubernetes or similar cloud-native solutions.
- Advanced SQL, with experience in data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Domain knowledge in areas such as Marketing, Business, Finance, Logistics, or Health.
- Proficiency in background skills including ML/LLMOps, data analysis/visualization/pre-processing, statistics, A/B testing, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and cloud technologies.
- Prior experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Analysis (a full-stack mindset) is a significant advantage.
Other Skills:
- Proficiency with version control systems like GIT.
- Fluent in Spanish and English; German language skills are a plus.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies.
