At Pleo, we’re on a mission to revolutionise the way businesses manage company spending. We believe spend management should be seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike. We’re creating tools that promote autonomy, foster trust, and let businesses focus on what truly matters.

About The Role

Engineers are the backbone of all we do at Pleo. We are looking for experienced Backend Engineers to join one of our cross-functional product teams. As a Senior, you will be an expert in server-side languages, with Kotlin being the primary language for over 90% of our micro-services. Beyond writing excellent, well-tested, maintainable code, you will also practice strong technical leadership. This includes giving insightful PR reviews, being a trusted technical partner, prioritising tech debt, proactively handling incidents, leading post-mortems, and upskilling and unblocking the team.

Your responsibilities will include taking ownership and leading large projects such as new product launches, managing migrations, and designing and building new microservices or components. As a scale-up, you will also be a steady hand to help the team navigate ambiguity and manage technical change.

We are looking for someone others can look up to and learn from, setting the standard for the team through code, work ethic, and culture promotion. At Pleo, people and culture are paramount, and we value trust and transparency.

As we grow, we are excited to welcome Backend Engineers to join various domains, including Platform and Services, Partnerships, SMB, Credit, and more. While the specific team will be decided later, our hiring process is streamlined to ensure a great fit.
