BeFrank is looking for a Data Engineer to join their small data team responsible for their new Data Platform. The ideal candidate is an independent "contractor" in the data landscape, eager to build and enrich the data platform. Fluency in Dutch is a strict requirement.

Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building data solutions on the platform, working closely with team members with a high degree of autonomy. You will have the freedom and responsibility to contribute to new applications that can enrich BeFrank's data platform. Your core role is to make raw data in the data platform usable, for example, through tools like PowerBI.

This role is combined with the responsibilities of a Test Engineer within the data team, focusing on Quality Assurance and automated testing of developed solutions.

Key responsibilities include: * Building data solutions on the platform. * Contributing to new applications that can enrich the data platform. * Designing and applying appropriate test types. * Integrating tests into the CI/CD process.

Requirements:

Candidates should have a Bachelor's/Master's work and thinking level with relevant experience in a similar role.

For the Data Engineer role: * Knowledge of the Azure Data Stack (Azure Synapse Analytics/Data Factory/Databricks). * Experience with SQL and Python (PySpark, Scala, or Java is a plus). * Knowledge of performance optimization and monitoring of ETL pipelines. * Understanding of data storage methods and tools (relational/non-relational databases, DWHs, Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.). * Ability to translate business needs into data products.

For the Test Engineer role: * Knowledge of test types (end-to-end, unit, integration, etc.). * Familiarity with tools/frameworks for test automation. * Ability to integrate tests into the CI/CD process. * Ability to identify edge cases to improve release reliability.

Team and Work Environment:

You will be one of three Data Engineers in a data team that also includes an architect, project manager, and data scientist. Work is conducted using the Agile Scrum methodology.
