Joining Collibra’s Test Engineering team
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test I, Knowledge Graph at Collibra, you will be an integral part of the Test Engineering team, contributing to the successful execution of testing strategies within a Scrum Team. You will be responsible for developing and promoting testing knowledge within an Agile team, assisting developers in their testing efforts, and sharing your expertise on relevant testing tools. Your role will involve driving experimentation for continuous improvement, defining and maintaining metrics, and promoting a shift-left approach in testing across the Engineering department. You will also be responsible for Test Data definition and developing scalable frameworks and tools to address challenges.
SDET, Test Engineering at Collibra are responsible for:
- Reviewing requirement specifications and user stories to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Designing, developing, and executing automation scripts and Test Automation frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, and Rest Assured.
- Working on the continuous integration of scripts using Jenkins and driving the team towards continuous testing.
- Identifying, documenting, and tracking issues.
- Collaborating closely with Software/Test Engineers and Product Managers to understand context and drive automation and testing objectives.
- Participating in exploratory testing and test design sessions to enhance overall product quality.
- Acquiring a deep understanding of the domain and approaching testing holistically to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Strategically identifying what to automate, focusing on balancing risk, cost, and value.
- Coaching developers and other SDETs.
- Working with K8s and Helm charts.
You have:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Test Automation.
- Knowledge of software QA methodologies and tools (JIRA or similar) and processes.
- Experience in Java and/or TypeScript, with hands-on experience in automated testing tools like Cypress, Playwright, and Rest Assured.
- Experience with DevOps, Gradle, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Good communication skills and enjoy collaborating with colleagues.
- The ability to identify flaws in the testing process, toolset, and infrastructure, and to propose and drive necessary improvements.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience.
- Work authorization to work in Poland.
You are:
- Experienced in building Test Automation Frameworks and working in a continuous delivery/continuous testing environment.
- Experienced in building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experienced in working within an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Able to identify testing and quality challenges.
- Able to create innovative solutions for complex problems.
- A person with strong communication skills who enjoys collaboration.
- Able to combine automation skills with manual testing aspects, including exploratory testing.
- Able to think independently with curiosity, criticism, and attention to detail.
- Well-organized and accustomed to an innovative environment.
Measures of success:
- Within your first month: Complete onboarding, mandatory learnings, and become familiar with the product, tech stack, and test frameworks.
- Within your third month: Actively contribute to test processes and improvements to test coverage.
- Within your sixth month: Own test projects and drive team quality improvements.
