Role Overview
As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) I, Platform UX, you will be an integral part of Collibra’s Test Engineering team, contributing to the successful execution of testing strategies within an Agile Scrum Team. You will play a key role in developing and promoting testing knowledge, assisting developers with testing, and sharing expertise on relevant testing tools. Your responsibilities will include defining and maintaining metrics, promoting a shift-left approach in testing, driving test data definition, and developing scalable frameworks and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in testing activities within the Scrum Team and assist in executing testing strategies.
- Develop and promote testing knowledge within the Agile team, supporting developers in their testing efforts.
- Share experience with various testing tools and drive experimentation for improvements.
- Define and maintain metrics and promote testing awareness across the Engineering department.
- Champion a shift-left approach in testing.
- Drive Test Data definition and develop scalable frameworks and tools.
- Perform accessibility and front-end testing using TypeScript, Playwright, and Storybook.
- Review requirement specifications and user stories to provide feedback.
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts and test automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured).
- Integrate automation scripts into CI/CD pipelines and drive continuous testing practices.
- Identify, document, and track issues.
- Collaborate with Software/Test Engineers and Product Managers to understand context and drive automation and testing.
- Participate in exploratory testing and test design sessions to enhance product quality.
- Gain a deep understanding of the domain and approach testing holistically for comprehensive coverage.
- Strategically determine what to automate, focusing on balancing risk, cost, and value.
- Coach developers and other SDETs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Test Automation.
- Proficiency in software QA methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript and automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, and Rest Assured.
- Experience with DevOps, Github Actions, Jenkins, and Docker.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to identify and propose improvements for testing processes, toolsets, and infrastructure.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience.
- Work authorization to work in Poland is required.
