Role DescriptionWe are seeking a Data Scientist to join our Data team. You will report to the Data Science Tech Lead and collaborate closely with business, marketing, and engineering teams in an Agile environment. The Data team is responsible for researching, developing, testing, maintaining, and deploying systems that extract maximum value from data to inform decisions, answer questions, and fuel data products, ultimately improving the experience for our customers, sellers, and internal stakeholders.
Tasks and Responsibilities- Interface with stakeholders to understand and address their data needs, co-create new data products, and assist them in making data-driven decisions, including the use of generative AI.
- Create, evaluate, and improve a variety of data products such as smart/optimization/personalization algorithms, AI agents, LLM applications, recommender systems, and predictive models.
- Develop analytics, models, and algorithms from conception to production deployment, focusing on the end-user/stakeholder, accuracy, scalability, and an iterative approach.
- Maintain high standards and quality in analyses, code, and implementation.
- Support teammates through data science brainstorming, code reviews, and collaborative work, particularly during the Proof of Concept (POC)/Research & Development (R&D) phase.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in a customer-centric company within e-commerce, a transactional marketplace, or e-health.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience in creating, evaluating, and improving Data Products using:
- Advanced Python: Proficiency with libraries such as pandas/polars, PyTorch, LangChain, etc., and experience deploying to production environments using Kubernetes or other cloud-native solutions.
- Advanced SQL: Experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar.
- Domain knowledge in areas such as Marketing, Business, Finance, Logistics, or Health.
- Background skills in ML/LLMOps, data analysis/visualization/pre-processing, statistics, A/B testing, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and cloud technologies.
- Previous Data Engineering and/or Data Analysis experience (a full-stack mindset) is a significant advantage.
- Version control using GIT.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English; German is a plus.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
