Vonage AI Services team is looking for a sharp backend software engineer to work on AI/ML based services specializing in audio, text and conversational AI systems. The developed services enhance existing products and drive innovation with new products within the company.
Your key responsibilities:
- Create new robust services built on cutting edge technology and AI/ML models
- Optimize production services and infrastructures that serve high volume traffic
- Optimize existing algorithms and models for scalability and performance
- Create and optimize data preprocessing pipelines and ETLs
- Contribute to our existing tool sets for advanced research and development
- Working alongside data science professionals together on joint tasks

What you'll bring:
- Experience with Python web backend development
- Experience with either Golang or Node
- Experience with complex systems including those with high concurrency traffic
- Bachelors in Software Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience with SQL / NoSQL databases
- Experience with web frameworks and REST API services
- Experience with cloud hosting environments like AWS, GCP, Azure
- Virtual environments and dockerized environments (K8s)
- Experience in Agile software development methodology: Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
Experience we consider a plus:
- Experience with AWS hosting and services (lambda, sqs, elastic, s3, dynamo etc…)
- Infrastructure and devops understanding
- gRPC, websockets
- Working with machine learning teams
- ETL, Spark, data processing
