Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Our backers include Accel, EQT Growth, Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sprints, and TPG.
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join Listing AI Automation team within the Supply domain. The team is responsible for improving the listing experience and reducing friction when listing an item at Vinted. As a backend engineer, you will help evolve our product, implement business logic, develop APIs for our mobile and web platforms, and scale our backend systems to meet growing platform needs. Most importantly, drive the mission of making second-hand the first choice!
In this position, you’ll * Work in a cross-functional team of backend engineers and data scientists to build AI-powered features that enhance the experience of listing millions of items every week on our marketplace. * Design, implement, and maintain a robust backend service that processes user-uploaded listings. * See your code affect 80+ million users almost instantly. Our master branch gets rolled out straight to production on each merge. We deploy many times per day. * Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and product teams to integrate computer vision and LLM-based models (using both external APIs and in-house infrastructure). * Collaborate with other developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews. * Write unit tests (RSpec) for all of the code you write. * Ensure reliable data validation, inter-service communication, and API performance optimization. * Apply Agile and Lean principles in your work, participating in planning, retrospectives, and other ceremonies. * Effectively partner across teams to prioritize and deliver results. * Own your service end-to-end: from system architecture and design to deployment, observability, and performance tuning. Monitor system performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana. * Work with Golang, Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Vitess, Memcached, Elasticsearch, Java, Scala, Rust and write streaming applications on top of Apache Flink. We don’t expect you to be familiar with all of them beforehand. * Own SLIs/SLOs in the product team.
