Patient Support Assistant

Patients are at the center of IQVIA’s business strategies. The Patient Support Program Assistant has primary accountability for providing appropriate nonclinical administrative and logistic support for patients living with rheumatology and dermatology diseases. The Patient Support Program Assistant will serve as the link for each patient enrolling in the PSP to better understand the steps in his/her journey by one-to-one communication. The Assistant will support the coordination of laboratory exams, documents preparation and delivery for the eligible patients.

This is a field-based role where most of the interaction between the Patient Support Program Assistant and the enrolled patients will be face-to-face in the area of the Healthcare organizations (hospitals) in Sofia providing care for the patients with the diseases in the scope of the PSP. However, additional channels of interactions like phone calls are also possible. After each meeting the Patient Support Program Assistant will have to fill in a meeting report form and to submit it to via a validated system.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing face-to-face support to patients enrolled in the Program;
  • Attending meetings with patients in the area of hospitals, providing care for the disease in scope of the Program;
  • Providing logistic and administrative support to improve the experience for patients; no medical information will be provided;
  • Supporting patients with documents preparation and delivery;
  • Providing information in scope of the Program to healthcare professionals when needed;
  • Collaborating with other members of the PSP team in order to meet the patients’ needs;
  • Responding accurately and timely to patient needs and inquiries, ensuring assistance within the approved scope of the PSP;
  • Creating a personalized, ongoing relationship with patients;
  • Collecting informed consents of patients for enrolment in the PSP;
  • Collecting patients and requests details in a dedicated meeting reporting form and a CRM platform;
  • Generating weekly and monthly reports about activities and the requested support;
  • Reporting Adverse Events or Adverse Drug Reactions within a 24-hour period or as per the manufacturer’s specifications;
  • Any additional duties as assigned by program management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma;
  • Higher degree in healthcare or social science fields will be considered as an advantage including nurse, pharmacy technician, social worker etc. but it is not mandatory;
  • Experience with patient assistance, health insurance and/or drug reimbursement background is considered as an advantage, but it is not mandatory;
  • Prior experience in providing patient (customer) support is considered as an advantage, but it is not mandatory;
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills;
  • Ability to counsel patients of all ages, cultures and educational level;
  • Drive and enthusiasm for supporting patients;
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills;
  • Fully competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Excellent documentation accuracy;
  • Fluency in Bulgarian language;
  • Intermediate (B1) level of English language.
