Senior Principal Software Engineer (Data Recovery | C++ | Python)

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing sophisticated systems and software based on the customer’s business goals, needs, and general business environment, with a focus on integrating AI/ML capabilities to enhance software solutions.
You will:
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of data recovery software for Dell’s storage product in a scrum team-oriented environment, including the integration of AI-driven solution to improve system reliability
- Develop, review and implement test cases for software products and systems, incorporating AI/ML-specific testing frameworks and validation techniques
- Resolve complex programming problems, including ulti-thread related issues, concurrency and parallelism issues, performance optimization issues,
- Make technical decisions and recommendations, including evaluating technical trade-offs, identifying and mitigating technical risks, developing and maintaining technical roadmaps and strategies for the PowerStore storage system
- Communicate and work effectively with global teams, providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other teams

Essential Requirements
- 10+ years of proven experience in complicated system, e.g. critical telecom product, OS (multi-threading, locks, scheduling), storage systems, storage protocols (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI), storage technologies (SAN, NAS, RAID, OSD, snapshot, replication), object storage data path architecture, networking, device drivers, clustering, etc.
- Strong C/C++, Python and Linux/Windows kernel programming skills
- Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues
- Ability to make technical decisions and recommendations, including evaluating technical trade-offs, identifying technical risks, presenting technical information with stakeholders and negotiating technical requirements
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge and expertise in file systems and data recovery development is a big plus, with experience in AI-powered data integrity analysis
- Knowledge of cloud-based storage systems and technologies, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
