Role Description: As a Python Developer, you will become part of a successful international team, that aids in the creation and maintenance of complex financial software. This includes partnering with other developers, testers, application support engineers, and infrastructure automation engineers to ensure a smooth development and operational pipeline. This mid-level role focuses on Python backend development and will provide an opportunity to work on diverse distributed systems that power HedgeServ’s Security Master capability..
The team is based in the US and Sofia and is composed of between 5 to 10 ppl, split between QAs and Devs.
Role Responsibilities: * Develop distributed back-end applications in** Python** composed of REST APIs, bulk data processing, and process automation. * Collaborate with QA staff to develop automated testing methodologies and ensure that test coverage accurately represents the business requirements. * Collaborate with team members to provide operational support staff with engineering expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot and solve problems that occur in production applications.

Requirements:
- Strong critical thinking skills, including the abilities to reason about complex systems, think algorithmically, and troubleshoot problems with software
- 2+ years of experience developing backend or full-stack applications with an object oriented programming language like Python, Java, C#, C++, etc.
- Experience with SQL databases including writing queries, and working with indexes
- Understanding of development best-practices such as writing clean code, using appropriate design patterns and implementing object-oriented principles
- Logical minded, critical thinking, quick learner
- Knowledge of SQL
- Good written and spoken English
Nice to have:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience with document databases such as MongoDB
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration such as Kubernetes
- Understanding of version control systems (e.g. Git/SVN)
- Knowledge of micro services in a distributed environment distributed software architectures including HTTP and event driven microservices
