We are looking for an experienced Lead to take full ownership of a development team operating within the Online Sales Cluster (Direct Sales area). This area is responsible for digital products and features that enable customers to independently configure and purchase insurance products online, without agent interaction.

This is a hands-on delivery accountability role. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects and features are delivered on time, with high quality, and in alignment with business expectations and commercial priorities.

While the role includes people management responsibilities, its primary focus is delivery performance and execution. You will lead a team of IT professionals, with full accountability for managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and execution across the development lifecycle, in close collaboration with demanding stakeholders and senior leadership.

You will operate in a dynamic environment with high expectations, where ownership, proactivity, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.

How you will get the job done 

  • taking full accountability for the delivery of projects and features executed by the development team
  • ensuring that business requirements related to online and direct sales channels are successfully translated into working digital solutions
  • actively managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks across the development lifecycle
  • removing delivery obstacles and resolving cross-functional challenges that impact timelines or quality
  • working closely with other teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution
  • monitoring progress and ensuring delivery commitments are met within agreed timelines and scope
  • proactively identifying risks and communicating issues early, together with mitigation plans
  • maintaining strong understanding of development processes (environments, releases, dependencies, CI/CD, testing flows)
  • operating effectively in an environment with high expectations
  • supporting team members in achieving delivery goals, while prioritizing project outcomes when trade-offs are required
  • fostering a collaborative, performance-driven and ownership-oriented culture within the team
  • promoting the use of standard tools, frameworks, and best practices, and supporting resource planning to ensure the availability of the right skills across the project portfolio
  • leading and developing team members, supporting the professional growth and development of employees in a global environment by encouraging continuous learning, knowledge sharing, coaching, and cross-location collaboration to build sustainable delivery capabilities
  • this role is based in Warsaw, but occasional travels are expected

  • fluency in English
  • strong practical understanding of the software development lifecycle and delivery mechanics
  • understanding of the insurance industry, including core processes, products, sales channels, and business models
  • proven experience in leading development or delivery teams with direct accountability for meeting deadlines
  • experience working in digital / online sales environments (e-commerce, self-service platforms, customer-facing digital journeys) is a strong advantage
  • ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
  • strong ownership mindset and proactive communication style
  • excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a service-oriented approach toward internal and external partners
  • ability to independently manage topics without close supervision
