Information about the position
We’re looking for a Senior II Android Engineer to join our Marketplace Security domain. The domain owns critical areas like registration and login, stopping bot accounts, and preventing account takeovers.
You’ll join a dedicated anti‑bot team that focuses on understanding and combating bot activity and abusive automation on Vinted. The team works at the intersection of marketplace, engineering and security, using both in‑house solutions and carefully selected third‑party tools.
This is a greenfield, a discovery‑heavy space. We’re still defining how we measure and tackle bot activity across Vinted, and you’ll play a key role in shaping that on Android.
In this position, you’ll
- Be the go‑to Android engineer for the anti‑bot area in Marketplace Security
- Design and build Android capabilities to detect and mitigate bots and abusive automation
- Implement and maintain behavioural and technical signals on Android that feed our bot metrics and decision systems
- Design and own shared, SDK‑like Android libraries that other teams can integrate to benefit from bot protections
- Work closely with mobile, backend, web, data, and security engineers to understand new bot patterns and respond effectively
- Balance strong protections with good UX, performance and privacy for legitimate members
- Work with feature flags, metrics and experimentation to roll out changes safely and learn from impact

The salary range for this position is € 6,542 - € 8,842 gross per month.
About you
- You have strong experience building and evolving large‑scale Android apps in Kotlin
- You have experience building internal SDKs or shared Android libraries used by multiple teams (clear APIs, versioning, migration strategies)
- You care about engineering quality : testing, observability, CI/CD, clean architecture
- You have experience supporting incident response from the mobile side (feature flags, safe rollouts/rollbacks, collaborating with backend under time pressure)
- You’ve worked at a Senior II level – leading technical initiatives, influencing other engineers and making clear trade‑offs
- You’re comfortable working in data‑ and metrics‑driven environments, not just shipping features
- You have a track record in discovery‑heavy and greenfield work where the problem space is still being defined
- You keep an eye on new AI‑driven developer tools and help your team decide which are worth adopting
- You communicate clearly in spoken and written English
Nice to have
- Experience in security, abuse/fraud prevention, trust & safety, or other risk‑heavy products
- Experience with obfuscation, anti‑tampering techniques, or app integrity checks on Android
