Job Description:

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

We have a robust, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, technical skill development and networking. We are an essential part of the Bank’s technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.

We are building a new Engineering Excellence function inside Private Bank, and we’re looking for senior engineers who thrive on solving hard technical problems, driving reliability and elevating engineering teams across the organization.

As part of this group, you will rotate into squads and application teams to uplift reliability, automation, performance, security and deliver best practices. You will act as hands-on expert, accelerator and multiplier to improve systems and the teams that own them.

Responsibilities:

  • Embed resilience and modern engineering patterns: You design and implement autoscaling, circuit breaking, bulkheads, rate limiters, retry strategies, and other quality features across critical services
  • Improve operational excellence: You partner with teams to reduce toil, improve Mean Time to Recover (MTTR), strengthen alerting and monitoring, and mature their incident/problem management processes.
  • Advanced engineering best practices: You introduce and refine modern standards: GitOps, distributed tracing, load testing, Open Telemetry, CI/CD Maturity, chaos engineering, and more.
  • Strengthen central shared platforms: You help evolve the bank’s shared engineering services (platform engineering, monitoring, infrastructure deployment) to ensure they meet real workload needs.
  • Coach, uplift, and multiply: You act as a technical mentor: pairing, reviewing, teaching, inspiring and generally raising the engineering skillset in every environment you enter.

We strive for a culture in which we are empowered to excel together every day. This includes acting responsibly, thinking commercially, taking initiative and working collaboratively.

Together we share and celebrate the successes of our people. Together we are Deutsche Bank Group.

We welcome applications from all people and promote a positive, fair and inclusive work environment.
