This role sits within a high-calibre backend engineering team responsible for building and evolving the core systems that power the merchant experience across a global payments platform. You will help design and deliver the services that support everything from merchant onboarding to daily operational workflows, ensuring a seamless and reliable experience at scale. The environment is highly technical, distributed, and product-driven, with a strong emphasis on ownership and end-to-end delivery. You will work on complex backend systems that handle real payment flows and must meet strict standards for reliability, performance, and correctness. Collaboration with engineers, product, and platform teams is central to shaping cohesive merchant-facing capabilities. This is a fully remote, fast-paced setting where engineers are expected to thrive in ambiguity and take initiative.
