To be successful as a Senior Platform / Data Engineering Tech Lead, you should have experience with:
Software engineering background with experience designing and building distributed software systems or engineering platforms – delivering scalable, resilient, and maintainable technology solutions
Platform engineering experience across cloud-native architecture, infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD and secure scalable platform patterns – enabling efficient, secure, and repeatable platform delivery
Senior technical leadership experience, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to set technical direction, influence engineering and business stakeholders, align teams around pragmatic delivery outcomes, remove complex blockers, and raise engineering maturity – driving strategic technology outcomes and engineering excellence
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience operating distributed platforms in production with strong focus on reliability, observability, resilience, and incident prevention
Experience building self-healing and self-service platform capabilities that reduce manual intervention and improve engineering autonomy
Exposure to data streaming or data platform technologies such as Kafka, Flink, schema registry, connectors, or event-driven architectures
