We are seeking an experienced and passionate Software Engineering Lead to guide, mentor, and develop a talented team of software engineers. This is a senior role that blends deep technical expertise with exceptional people management skills. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement while overseeing the development and lifecycle of our core software applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and inspire a team of software engineers, fostering their professional growth and career development. Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and goal-setting sessions.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and performance-oriented spirit, fostering a team culture that values collaboration and innovation.
- Encourage and facilitate technical studies, knowledge sharing sessions, and continuous learning within the chapter.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on the architecture, design, and implementation of software applications built with Java, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies.
- Champion software engineering best practices, including code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and application lifecycle management.
- Stay current with industry trends and drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to solve complex problems.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our software systems.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts, project status, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels.

Skills
- Proven experience in a senior software engineering role with a track record of technical leadership.
- Demonstrable experience in people management, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management of software engineers.
- Strong hands-on expertise with our core technology stack:
- Java and its ecosystem (e.g., Spring Boot, Hibernate).
- Python for scripting or application development.
- Kafka for building event-driven architectures.
- Containerization and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Major Cloud Computing platforms.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and modern software development principles.
- Business fluency in English is mandatory.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- A proactive, well-spoken, and solution-oriented individual with a passion for both technology and people.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
