Team / division overview
We are looking for a mid-to-senior Frontend / UI Developer to join the Risk Navigator technology team and help lead the UI development for our Risk modernization journey. This is an opportunity for a developer with strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and React experience, a good eye for design and usability, and the ability to work across the stack with Java and Spring-based backend services. You will join a collaborative, international team that values ownership, curiosity, quality, and open communication. We work closely across business, technology, architecture, testing, and platform teams to modernize Investment Risk capabilities and create intuitive, reliable, and scalable user experiences. As a key member of the team, you will help shape the frontend architecture, improve the look and feel of the application, and turn complex risk workflows into clean, practical, and user-friendly interfaces.
Your responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the development of modern, responsive, and maintainable user interfaces using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, and related frontend technologies.
- Take a leading role in shaping the UI for Risk modernization, including frontend architecture, component design, usability, performance, accessibility, and consistency across the application.
- Work closely with business analysts, product stakeholders, developers, testers, and architects to translate complex Investment Risk workflows and requirements into intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.
- Collaborate with backend developers and contribute where appropriate to Java and Spring-based services, including API design, integration, data exchange, troubleshooting, and end-to-end solution validation.
- Create reusable UI components, patterns, and development practices that improve delivery speed, quality, maintainability, and the overall user experience.
- Support the full delivery lifecycle, including refinement, design discussions, implementation, peer reviews, testing, release preparation, deployment support, and post-release improvements.
- Act as a collaborative technical owner for the UI area by sharing knowledge, guiding development choices, supporting colleagues, improving engineering standards, and contributing to a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in modern frontend development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, and related tooling.
- Strong understanding of React application architecture, component design, state management, routing, testing approaches, performance optimization, and maintainable frontend code structures.
- Good design sense and the ability to create clean, intuitive, and user-friendly interfaces for complex business applications; experience working with design systems or reusable UI patterns is a plus.
- Backend development experience with Java and Spring or Spring Boot, including REST APIs, service integration, data exchange, debugging, and collaboration on end-to-end technical solutions will be a plus.
- Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services, APIs, authentication flows, data models, and asynchronous processing patterns.
- Practical experience with development tools and engineering practices such as Git, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, automated testing, agile delivery, and secure software development.
- Ability to understand complex business domains, ask good questions, and work closely with analysts and users to create practical technology solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the willingness to work closely with colleagues across locations and contribute actively to shared designs, decisions, and delivery outcomes.
- High level of ownership, curiosity, quality mindset, and willingness to take responsibility for improving the UI, engineering standards, and the way the team works together.
- Experience guiding other developers, reviewing frontend designs, introducing reusable patterns, or taking technical leadership for a UI workstream is a strong advantage.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German is a plus.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
