New sensor from Orca Security: the “unicorn” is hiring in Poland

It all started in 2019, when a group of enthusiasts left CheckPoint with a new idea: to create a cloud security scanning system. This is how Orca Security was born. Within just five years, the startup has become an industry leader, achieved the "unicorn" status, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Now, Orca Security is ready for their next big adventure. They’re launching a new product and are actively hiring talented IT specialists in Poland to join their team. Keep on reading to learn the details.

SideScanning from Orca Security

Orca Security has revolutionized cloud security with its SideScanning technology. Unlike traditional methods that require installing software on servers, SideScanning is a simple, non-invasive approach. Users just need to give Orca Security access to their cloud environment through the API, and that's it. Many big names like Autodesk, Unity, Postman, Lemonade, and others are already using the Orca Platfrom because it's so effective.

In Poland, On The Spot Development serves as Orca's local representative, helping them build and grow the startup's R&D teams.

Cloud Security event in Warsaw

By the way, Orca Security and On The Spot Development are organizing a major cloud security event – Cloud Security TechSpot – on November 8th in Warsaw at Google for Startups Campus.

What to expect:

  • In-depth discussions on the most pressing cloud security threats
  • A deep dive into vulnerabilities in GCP and Azure
  • A special presentation from Google Cloud

Plus, Orca Security is hosting a "Capture the Flag" challenge. Participants will have to spot vulnerabilities in a cloud environment and simulate real-world attack scenarios. The first person to successfully complete the challenge wins a great prize.

Registration and event details are available on this website.

Leveling Up: Orca Security starts working on its new sensor

The company is about to develop a sensor designed for monitoring infrastructure security, equipped with advanced capabilities.

The new sensor will provide immediate notifications about vulnerabilities and respond to them adequately. This functionality operates at the Linux kernel level, utilizing eBPF technology for secure performance.

“Remember when CrowdStrike's software caused a big problem for airports, railways, and mols around the globe? That was a cybersecurity disaster. When you update software, you want it to be safe and keep working. eBPF technology helps us conduct work at the kernel level without causing any issues,” says Anton Naumovich, Engineering Director at Orca Security.

The new sensor will integrate with SideScanning technology and become part of the comprehensive solution by Orca Security.

"Many of Orca’s customers have been waiting for this new sensor. They plan to use it to secure some parts of their cloud infrastructure, while still using SideScanning for other parts," Anton adds.

Talents needed

The specialists joining the team will be at the forefront of the product's development. As more and more companies move their operations to the cloud, this is a great chance to work on the cutting edge of technology.

Orca Security is on the lookout for:

“We are seeking individuals with a real passion for clouds, observability, and security. Those who want to create a product they can be proud of.”

Here’s how Orca Security describes themselves:

“If you’re looking to join the cybersecurity company that changed the game, while having the opportunity to work with kind and passionate people, we want you to find your place in our Pod.”
