As a Software Engineering Team Leader you will be accountable for building and retaining a 'Dream team' that has the skills, passion and knowledge necessary to solve the business problems and meet the business needs. In this role, you will provide a leadership to your direct reports, by means such as coaching, mentoring and delegation, enabling them and establishing a high performing software engineering culture within the organisation. You are expected to provide a vision on day-to-day tasks and long-term strategy

You will ensure team motivation, induction, appraisal and goal setting process for your team are done in high standard.

You will be responsible for making sure the team follows the Stats Perform development standards, processes and quality of software delivered. The Team Leader role is a supporting role to the team and not a "Command and Control" role.

 HERE’S YOUR ROLE BROKEN DOWN (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF) 

Recruit, lead, motivate and inspire a team of 10+ Software Engineers

Ensure team delivery of product roadmap on time and with high quality

Work closely with Product Owners to ensure that the team achieves their goals.

Manage risks (along with Product Owner) and identify project and team blockers

Ensure smooth communication between various technology groups

Ensure the development of the direct reports to drive productivity

Maintain close relationships with other Team Leaders for consistent management

Manage training sessions, promotion and succession

Supervise, mentor and support growth of direct reports

Collaborate with Software Engineering Manager and HR

Engage in PR & Marketing activities to increase recruitment funnel

Report on team performance metrics

DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?

Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle

Proven track record of leading a cross-functional team (10+ people)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience in Agile Practices (especially XP)

Ability to build and retain successful relations with stakeholders
