The IT job market is clearly changing its approach to remote work. In 2022, as many as 84% of respondents worked fully remotely, while by 2025 this number will drop to 60%. Employers are increasingly inviting employees back to the office - even tech giants like IBM, Dell, Meta, Amazon, and Zoom, who were considered the most open to remote work during the pandemic, require presence in the office up to three times a week.

At UNIQA, flexibility is key – 19% of respondents in 2025 declare working in a hybrid model of 3-4 days remotely, which also reflects our approach. We listen to the voice of employees through quarterly satisfaction surveys and know that they appreciate this balance, rating the combination of remote work and office work at 4.5/5. Of course, there are areas in the company that, due to the nature and specifics of work, require fully stationary work, so the final decision about the shape of this model is made by the department/division director.

Why do we encourage our employees to meet in the office? Live collaboration accelerates problem-solving, fosters spontaneous knowledge exchange, and strengthens team bonds, which positively affects the atmosphere and overall job satisfaction. Random conversations over coffee or live brainstorming sessions cannot be replaced – they build relationships that pay off both business-wise and privately. Direct interactions also support professional development by enabling real-time mentoring and support.

The hybrid model combines the best benefits of both worlds – flexibility and the possibility of integration. The key is finding the balance.
